After launching the Rapid sedan in India, Skoda India launched the long awaited Skoda Yeti 4x2SUV in India today. The SUV has been powered with a 2.0-liter TDI engine which churns out the maximum power of 110 BHP at 4200 RPM and a peak torque of 250 Nm between 1500-2500 RPM. Skoda Yeti 4x2 price has been placed lower than its 4x4 variant at Rs 1465232.

Review about Skoda Yeti Review:-
The Skoda Yeti is a very robust and smart car with class apart looks that not only offers comfort but a great driving experience. The aggressive sporty look of the car is quite irresistible and this product from Skoda’s hood is definitely a head turner. Skoda has a very wide portfolio in India and with the introduction of Yeti; the company has floated a compact SUV in Indian market which fills the gap between Skoda Fabia and Skoda Octavia.
The USP of this mighty SUV is that Skoda Yeti is available in diesel option only. The 2.0L TDI CR, 16V DOHC, 4 cylinder, Turbocharged, liquid cooled, high pressure direct injection diesel engine is endowed with 6 Speed Manual Transmission that offers good performance with amazingly high mileage both in cities and in highways. The diesel engine is packed with turbocharger that makes the engine very efficient and can also cool the engine very quickly. This diesel powertrain is capable of producing maximum power of 140 bhp at 4200 rpm and returns top torque of 320 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm.
The Skoda Yeti has got amazing combination of style and comfort. The new Skoda SUV comes packed with wealth of advance features to attract huge number of car lovers. The traditional wing –shaped grille with the authentic Skoda badge and the dual-tone bumper design to match with it requires no further description. The sharp headlamps design with the fog lamps integrated into it presents a unique picture. The advanced features of the new Skoda Yeti are borrowed from other cousins like Skoda Fabia and yet to be launched Skoda Roomster and Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. The interiors of the car are as exquisite as the exteriors, quite tastefully decorated with rich color tones. The plump seating arrangement in the car is covered with leather upholstery making one sink into the comfort it offers. The central console and the power steering wheel look quite spruced up in the spacious interiors. The instrument panel is nicely placed on the dashboard. Not just this, Skoda Yeti comes with some advanced safety features like engine immobilizer with floating code system, security code for central infotainment system, remote control locking and unlocking of doors and boot lid with two foldable keys. Remote control opening and closing of windows is possible in Skoda Yeti along with active front head restraints, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at front and three point seatbelts for rear. In the bonnet, one can find protective covers for engine, gearbox and undercarriage. Regular safety features in an SUV like front fog lamps, ABS with EBD and hydraulic brake assistant are obviously present along with ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), TCS (Traction Control System), EDL (Electronic Differential Lock), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), Off Road Assistant with Hill Descent Control, etc.
The range of Yeti is extended as Skoda introduced a two-wheel-drive diesel option in November, 2011. The two new variants with 2 wheel drive, added in the fleet of Skoda Yeti are, Skoda Yeti Active and Skoda Yeti Ambition. The Skoda Yeti 4x2 variant is Skoda’s effort to improve their presence in the SUV segment in India. The Skoda Yeti is as picturesque as before carrying its massive structure with clearly defined lines to provide an immense road presence. The Skoda Yeti 4x2 offers extreme drivability pleasure for on-road usage and perfect on the most difficult terrains as well. The two wheel drive models are also powered by the same 2.0 litre common rail turbo diesel engine but with tweaked power output. While the 4 wheel drive Yeti offers you 140 bhp of power, this new engine renders 110 Bhp of maximum power to the front two-wheels at 4200 RPM and a maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1500-2500 rpm. The 2.0 L 1968 cc in-line, liquid cooled with high-pressure direct injection system and 16 V DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the former was a 6-speeder. It might look that power has stepped down in the 4x2 version of Yeti, however, Skoda has another luring point for customers and that is mileage. Skoda Yeti 4x2 comes with enhanced mileage of 17.72 kmpl as compared to 17.67 kmpl offered by the 4x4 version. This is a remarkable achievement in a mileage specific country like India.
The dimensions of the new entrant are almost same except that the 4x2 version have shed some kerb weight. Skoda Yeti Active and Skoda Yeti Ambition (both 2-wheel drive model) measures 1445 kg while the 4x4 Yeti is heavier measuring 1543 kg. The Skoda Yeti 4x2 is a perfect choice as a family car, who wishes to own an SUV over a premium segment hatchback or a sedate sedan.
The in-vogue touch screen audio system with LCD screen and steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control along with its multi-functional display are all missing in the new variant. However, top propositions such as ESP, Hill Hold control and Vario Flex are offered with the new 4x2 model.
