Tata Motors, India’s largest automobiles manufacturer, has launched thenew Tata Manza  in the country during the first quarter of this year. Tata has been always known for their competitive pricing with good fuel efficiency. The all newTata Manza Elan is no exception with better features, powerful engine and contemporary appearance. Tata Motors have always made good profits whenever they have come up with anything new and with Tata Manza Elan, the company is sure to strengthen its hold on the Indian auto market. The scintillating sedan is placed in C segment cars and will be the 2^nd generation model of Tata Indigo. Elan has got some minor cosmetic changes from Tata Manza.

This new sedan is more spacious and comfortable with powerful engine than already running Tata Manza. The car comes with impressive design and very well integrated boot unlike Tata Indigo in which the trunk seems as an add-on. The all new Tata Manza Elan will be competing with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire and Hyundai Accent.

The competitive pricing of the Tata Manza Elan gives it an edge over its rivals.

Engine & Specifications

The all new Elan from Tata is available in both variants; petrol as well as diesel. The Safire 90, 1.4 Litre powerful petrol engine delivers an impressive power of 89 bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 116 Nm at 4750 rpm.

The 1248cc, Quadra-jet 90 diesel engine offers a maximum power of 89 bhp at 4000 rpm along with thumping torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm.

Exterior

The outer appearance of Tata Manza Elan is blessed with unique looks with lines and curves driving the onlookers crazy. The elegant stretched headlamps with clear lenses and fog lamps neatly placed beside lower grille furnish the car with classiness. The compact sedan’s front grill with trusted Tata’s symbol and 8-spoke alloy wheel adds to the beauty of the Manza Elan. Also, body coloured bumpers, side mirrors and door handles in top variant explains the quality work done by the engineers.

Interior

The all new Tata Manza Elan is bestowed with superb interiors which are surprisingly spacious with comfortable seats. The overall length of the sedan has been reduced to below 4 meters for which the boot space had to sacrifice. The two toned inside gets power windows this time around. Also, silver finished central console and decent chrome trims add to the redefined interiors. The central console of the Tata Manza Elan provides fuel consumption and ongoing temperature information.

Comfort and Convenient

Elan has got best-in-class comfort with an array of convenient features. AC comes without climate control feature and newly added power windows are also included. Remotely accessible central locking, boot and fuel filler makes the compact sedan technically ahead from its competitors. Other features include rear defogger, adjustable steering wheel, driver Information system, manually adjustable driver seat, 2 DIN Music System with USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. Apart from this tinted glass and foldable rear seats are also present.

Safety

The all new Tata Manza Elan comes well equipped with active and passive safety features. These include ABS (Antilock Breaking System) with EBD (Electronic Breakforce Distribution) which ensure that the occupants are safe even if some thing severe happens. Elan is also fitted with dual front airbags and rear 3 seat belts which help the front and rear passengers to avoid injuries in case of fatal accidents. Also, fog lamps are also available for better visibility in foggy conditions.

Mileage

The splendid sedan’s diesel variant offers an impressive mileage of 14 Kmpl in city and 18 Kmpl on highways while the petrol variant delivers 12 Kmpl in city and 16 Kmpl on highways.

Performance

The compact sedan, showcased under the brand name of Tata, is definitely a show stealer with its high performance. Tata Manza Elan can notch a speed 0 to 100 kmph in just 16 seconds and with a top speed of 165 kmph, seriously this sedan is a superb performer. The smooth shifting of gears with good suspension system makes Elan a true champion.

The new Tata Manza Elan is priced between Rs.5.14 lakh to Rs. 5.91 lakh (Ex-showroom New Delhi) depending on variants.

Drawbacks

The compact sedan backs out on certain aspects like parking sensors and traction control are not available. Also, ESP is missed in the Tata Manza Elan. Rear AC vents, rear armrest and steering wheel mounted controls are also not included in the sedan. The most important drawback is AC is available but with out climate control feature.
